Fear…….

My whole life I’ve been running off of fear.

Fear of losing something. Fear of failure. Fear of damn near everything.

When you build your life on fear, you’re really building it on doubt—on the belief that things won’t work out. And I’m done living like that.

I’m done holding on so tight, trying to make sure people don’t get too far away from me. That’s crazy… because that shit has never worked for me.

I have to let go of fear.

I have to speak my truth and be willing to hear the truth, even when it hurts, so I can let fate play its role. I’m tired of trying to control everything when the truth is… I’m not in control.

I can’t control how another person sees me.

What matters most is how I see myself.

And for the first time, I finally see me.

I’m not perfect, but I see my growth. I see the work. I see the effort I’ve been putting into becoming a better person—for myself and for the people around me.

If someone chooses to see me in a dim light, I can’t keep performing in hopes they’ll see me differently. I can only be authentically me… and be okay with that.

I’ve spent so much of my life trying to protect myself from feeling the kind of pain that’s sitting in my chest today.

But now that I’m here, I can honestly tell myself…

I will be okay.

I am Nikki.

I am growing.

I am evolving.

I am healing.

I am not perfect, and I never will be.

What I hope people can see is that I show up. I put in the effort. I challenge my own perspective. I try to understand the perspectives of others. I keep choosing growth, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Life is constantly evolving.

Nothing stays the same.

So if someone chooses to see you as stagnant, they’re refusing to acknowledge the person you’re becoming. They’re holding on to a version of you that no longer exists.

I wasn’t perfect in my past.

But I am not my past.

And I don’t need to spend the rest of my life trying to outrun it.

All I can do is learn.

Grow.

Evolve.

The experiences that hurt the deepest often become the lessons that transform us the most.

As I sit here with this heaviness in my chest, I almost feel like I’m standing at the edge of discovering one of life’s greatest truths…

Maybe the secret isn’t avoiding pain.

Maybe the secret is realizing that pain was never sent to destroy me.

It came to reveal me.

So today…

I surrender.

Not because I’m giving up.

But because I’m finally letting go.

And for the first time in a long time…

That feels like freedom.
